As long standing members of BAD we are passionate about the school and making it the best that it can be.

Principal - Miss Josephine  RAD RTS AAC1 
 

Miss Jose began dancing at the age of 10 and quickly fell in love with the art. Joining Bathurst Academy of Dance in 2007, she began student teaching in 2009 as she completed her University Degree in Primary Education. During this time Miss Jose also completed her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies through the Royal Academy of Dance, gaining her qualifications as a Registered Teacher. She also holds a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and her Teacher Certification with Acrobatic Arts and Progressing Ballet Technique. This is Miss Jose's tenth year as Principal of BAD. She will be in the studio teaching, as well as coordinating the Certificates in Dance, and our RAD Ballet program.

Principal- Miss Mikaela

Miss Mikaela began dancing at the age of 5 and has been a member of Bathurst Academy of Dance for over 15 years! She has completed a number of RAD Ballet exams, including Intermediate Foundation, and performed competitively as a soloist and troupe member in all genres of dance, in many eisteddfods and competitions. Miss Mikaela has received many awards including best Intermediate Dancer Award and the BAD Jemma Gordon Memorial Award for Excellence in Jazz and Hip Hop in 2016. Mikaela also received an outstanding high band for her HSC Dance . She holds a Certificate III in Dance & a Diploma of Business Studies. She is our administration manager working along side our BAD staff in reception to be the first point of contact and the go-to person for all your queries.
This will be Miss Mikaela’s fourth year as Principal of BAD. You will see her friendly face in the studio teaching as well as out in reception whilst also coordinating some of our great programs.

Miss Amy
 

Miss Amy has danced for many years and joined Bathurst Academy of Dance in 2017. Since then, she has competed in numerous Eisteddfods as a troupe member, duet partner and soloist. Some of her major achievements include being Senior Dancer of the Year in 2018 and receiving the Jemma Gordon Memorial Scholarship for Excellence in Jazz and Hip Hop in 2019. She has furthered her knowledge in dance by completing all four levels of DanceSTEP and in 2020, her Certificate III in Dance. This year, Miss Amy will be a part of our fabulous admin team remotely as she studies a Bachelor of Nursing in Wollongong. She will be very busy behind the scenes organising and co-ordinating a range of our programs and social media.

Miss Grace
 

Miss Grace has been dancing since the age of 3, she has been trained in RAD Ballet and has competed around the region in competitions as both a soloist and in troupes. She has won numerous tap championship titles during her time performing.
Miss Grace owned and was lead choreographer for her own studio where she choreographed numerous solo and troupe routines for Eisteddfods, Community and Charity events for a number of years, before taking a break to focus on family. She is excited to be back teaching and her favourite genres of dance are Tap, Jazz and Musical Theatre.

Miss Ash
 

Miss Ash started dancing at the age of 4 and quickly fell in love with the art of dance, ballet especially. She has trained in many genres including jazz and lyrical/contemporary but focuses most on Classical Ballet. Miss Ash has completed many RAD ballet exams from PPID to Discovering Repertoire Level 2. She has also competed competitively for the studio as a member of troupe, a soloist and a duet partner. Some of her major achievements include the Tots Dancer of the Year in 2012 and the Ballet Scholarship recipient in 2019. Miss Ash has completed Level 1 to 4 of the Dance Step program throughout 2020/21, as well as achieving her Certificate III in Dance course in 2021. She is looking forward to being a part of the BAD teaching team again this year and spreading the love of dance.

Miss Alisha
 

Miss Alisha begun dancing at the age of two and is trained in all styles of dance including jazz, tap, classical ballet, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre, latin, advanced acrobatics, hand balancing and contortion, and circus aerials. She completed her dance HSC at Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School in 2020, receiving a band 6 and call back’s for her work. Miss Alisha further completed full-time dance studies to obtain her Certificate IV in Dance (Elite Performance) in 2021 at Ev&Bow, and completed her Diploma in Professional Dance (Elite Performance) in 2022 at Brent Street.
Previously, Miss Alisha has been a member of the Ev & Bow Youth Company, Rebecca Davies’ Radar Technique Architect Squadron, Act Now Speak Later Sydney Team, LOcREaDO Dance Program (being honoured Dance Captaincy in 2020). Miss Alisha has performed at the World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in America representing Team Australia for both dance and modelling  and received champion of the world in acrobatics. In 2023 Miss Alisha completed her Acrobatic Arts Modules as well as her Aerial Arts Certification in silks and lyra.
Through being a dance student from a young age, she has taken the next level with sharing her love and passion for dance with younger students and is expressing her knowledge to the next generation in hope to spark their imaginations and their very own love and passion for this art-form.

Miss Amanda
 

Miss Amanda began dancing when she was just 3 years old and instantly fell in love. She came to BAD in 2012 and started troupe in 2017 competing for the studio across the Central West. Miss Amanda has completed both the DanceSTEP program as well as her Certificate III in Dance. She loves the Modern/Contemporary genre as well as Jazz and cannot wait to share her love for dancing with others this year. 

Miss Lara

Miss Lara started dancing at age 4 at Dynamite Performing Arts (now Dynamite Premiere Academy) in Sydney, where she learnt and competed in Musical Theatre, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Contemporary and Singing. In 2014, she moved to Lamont Dance and Theatre (now Katapult Performing Arts) where she continued learning and competing in groups and solos. After High School, she received a scholarship to Brent Street to complete her Diploma of Musical Theatre where she was given the opportunity to open for Casey Donovan and also sing back up vocals for Judah Kelly on The Voice AU. Miss Lara was also a successful applicant and graduate of the CMAA Senior Academy of Country Music, in which she performed on the Toyota Main Stage and the Golden Guitar Awards during the Tamworth Country Music Festival. Since 2019, Miss Lara has been touring and singing her way around Australia performing with Catherine Britt and Amber Lawrence, two of Australia's finest female country artists. She has a bright and bubbly personality and is extremely passionate about dance teaching and high school teaching. She has been teaching at dance schools and high schools across Sydney, The Southern Highlands and the Central West since 2014 and is immensely excited to share not only her knowledge and skills about being in a competitive industry, but also her love of performing arts with her students.

Miss Steph
 

Miss Steph started dancing at 6 years old and hasn’t stopped since. She started off with jazz and tap and when she was 8, started ballet and quickly fell in love with the art. Over the years, Miss Steph has completed RAD exams from Primary in Dance through to Grade 8, vocational grades up to and including Advanced Foundation as well as the 3 exams that make up Discovering Repertoire Level 2. She has also spent numerous years competing as a troupe member and individually with solos across Sydney and surrounds with ballet, lyrical and jazz routines. Miss Steph began her time at Bathurst Academy of Dance in 2022 as a student and was fortunate enough to have been the recipient of the Excellence in Ballet Scholarship the same year. 

Miss Steph is excited to join the BAD teaching team this year as she looks forward to passing on her knowledge and inspire the students to reach their full potential.
