Principal - Miss Josephine  RAD RTS AAC1 

Miss Jose began dancing at the age of 10 and quickly fell in love with the art.  Joining Bathurst Academy of Dance in 2007, she began student teaching in 2009 as she completed her University Degree in Primary Education. During this time Miss Jose also completed her Certificate in  Ballet Teaching Studies through the Royal Academy of Dance,  gaining her qualifications as a Registered Teacher.  She also holds a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and Teacher Certification with Acrobatic Arts and Progressing Ballet Technique. This is Miss Jose's seventh year as Principal of BAD. She will be teaching Certificate II & III in Dance and solos, as well as coordinating our RAD Ballet program.


Principal- Miss Mikaela
Miss Mikaela, our new principal, began dancing at the age of 5 and has been a member of Bathurst Academy of Dance for over 14 years! She has completed a number of RAD Ballet exams, including Intermedaite Foundation , and performed competively as a soloist and troupe member in all genres of dance, in many eisteddfods and competitions. Miss Mikaela has received many awards including best Intermediate Dancer Award and the BAD  Jemma Gordon Memorial Award for Excellence in Jazz and Hip Hop in 2016. Mikaela also recieved an outstanding high band for her HSC Dance and has completed a Certificate III in Dance. Miss Mikaela has completed a Certificate III in Dance, she is currently studying her Diploma of Business Studies, and is our administrations manager. She will is the first point of contact in reception and is the go-to person for all your queries along side with coordinating our DanceStep students and is our Troupe coordinator. 



Miss Amelia


Miss Amelia has been part of BAD for a number of years now both as a class teacher and our Soloist Coordinator. She has attained her Bachelor of Dance in Elite Performance from the Academy of Music and Performing Arts (AMPA) and is currently studying a Bachelor of Physiotherapy as well as the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance. Trained in RAD Ballet, Miss Amelia has also studied all genres of dance including Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Acrobatics, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. Additionally, her studies include 3 years of practical and theory training in the importance of technique, safe dance practice and body anatomy. She has also attained teacher certification with Acrobatic Arts and Progressing Ballet Technique. She has held professional dance contracts internationally and even danced in a film clip with Will Smith! 

Miss Lucinda 

Miss Lucinda has been dancing her whole life and recently finished studying at the Washington School of Ballet in the Professional Track Program. Prior to this she studied at Tanya Pearsons Classical Coaching Academy, McDonald College and the Australian Ballet School Interstate Program. Lucinda has performed various roles with the Washington Ballet Company and Sydney's Premier State Ballet. She was also a quarter finalist in both the Sydney Eisteddfod McDonald's challenge and the Alana Haines Awards in Wellington, New Zealand. This year she is studying a Bachelor of Exercise Science. We are thrilled have Miss Lucinda with us again this year and she will be teaching a variety of classes.


Miss Demi
Miss Demi has been dancing since the age of 5 in styles such as RAD ballet, contemporary, modern, tap, jazz, hip hop, jazz and cheerleading. She began dancing with BAD in 2010 before teaching in 2019 and 2020. She has cheered for the Penrith Panthers as a child and Newcastle Knights as an adolescent. Having won many choreography competitions with her childhood studios in Sydney/Victoria, Demi has always had a passion for choreography. Recently completing her Bachelor of Nursing in 2020, she loves teaching her students about anatomy and physiology while creating a fun and safe dancing education. In addition to taking classes Miss Demi is also our Tots Coordinator, overseeing all Mini and Tots classes to ensure continuity of learning. 
Miss Nikita
Miss Nikita started dancing at the age of 3 and has danced with BAD since 2013. Nikita has performed as a valued member and lead dancer of our Eisteddfod performance troupe and her stage presence is second to none! She has completed a Certificate III in dance and holds a Teacher Certification with Acrobatic Arts. Nikita has choreographed a number of outstanding routines from our 2020 concert that was raved about! In addition to teaching various dance classes, Miss Nikita is our new Acrobatic Coordinator. We're excited to have her continue to share her expertise with our students.
Miss Michaela

Miss Michaela joined us last year and we are thrilled to welcome her back to the BAD team! Michaela has spent many years studying RAD Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz and Musical Theatre. She is currently studying Certificate III in Dance and a Bachelor of Early Childhood & Primary Education, which is a fantastic asset to teaching dance as well! Miss Michaela will be teaching Tots, Ballet, Dance Ability and Soloists.


Miss Molly

We are so thrilled to have Miss Molly back! Miss Molly was a student of BAD before she trained in Ballet at Alegria in Sydney, full time. Since then Molly has had a number of overseas contracts: 6 month contract in Greece as a Dance captain/choreographer at a hotel, 11 months in a Circus that traveled Italy, learning Fire, Aerial hoop and Magic and a 6 month contract on Costa Favolosa where she sailed through North Europe (Norway, Denmark, Germany and Sweden). Her recent contract finished short on Costa Victoria where she sailed India, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. We are very lucky to have Miss Molly teaching for us while she is back in Australia! 

Miss Amy

Miss Amy has danced for many years and joined Bathurst Academy of Dance in 2017. Since then she has competed in numerous Eisteddfods as a troupe member, duet partner and soloist. Some of her major achievements include winning the Bathurst Academy of Dance Senior Dancer of the Year in 2018 and the Jemma Gordon Memorial Award for Excellence in Jazz and Hip Hop in 2019. She has furthered her knowledge in dance by completing levels one to four of DanceSteps and most recently, her Certificate III in Dance.

Miss Bronte

Miss Bronte began dancing at the age of 3 and started dancing at Bathurst Academy of Dance in 2016. This year is her 5th year as a part of the BAD family. Whilst dancing she has had the opportunity to compete in Eisteddfods as a member of open troupe team since 2018. Miss Bronte enjoys all styles of dance, though one of her favourites is irrefutably Contemporary, of which is won the 2020 award for Excellence in Modern Dance. She has completed her Level 4 DanceSteps Program and is ecstatic to begin her journey as a class teacher this year.

Miss Mikayla

Miss Mikayla began dancing at the age of 3 and this will be her 15th year at Bathurst Academy of Dance, making her one of our longest standing members! She has completed up to and including Advanced Foundation in RAD ballet exams. Mikayla has had the opportunity to compete competitively as a member of troupe, as well as a soloist. Some of her major achievements include the Senior Dancer of the Year in 2016, the 2017 Ballet Scholarship and in 2019 the Excellence in Lyrical and Contemporary. In 2018/2019 she furthered her knowledge of dance by completing her Certificate III in Dance. Miss Mikayla has completed Level 4 of the Dance Steps program and will now begin her journey as a class teacher. 

Miss Andrea

Miss Andrea started Irish Dancing when she was 7 years of age in Victoria, under Ray Ayers school of Irish Dance. She won first place in state competition and an Australian champion in team competition. When her family moved to the Northern Territory where there was no Irish dancing she began a small after-school Irish dancing group called Eire Irish Dancing, with her sister. Andrea continued her study of Irish dance during University and learned to understand both traditional Irish and ‘entertainment Irish’ in the wake of Riverdance. Upon moving to Bathurst she danced with a local Ceili group and last year was able to pick up her shoes again and to become our resident Irish teacher. We look forward to the year ahead with Miss Andrea!

Miss Sue

Sue is our fabulous Zumba teacher! She began teaching Zumba in 2014, having now taught for over 6 years. We are so excited to have her as part of the BAD team again.
